Asian Association of Police Studies:  Representing members from Australia, Hong Kong, Korea, Taiwan and the USA, this organization connects Asian police and security schools, their teachers and alumni from around the world.

Comparative Criminal Justice Resources: A deceptively small looking index page leads to hundreds of links dealing with criminal justice, law and government around the world.

Corrections Connection: A weekly-updated online magazine on corrections issues, services, products and more. Over 5000 pages in size, the site contains databases, contact information, online articles, research materials and links to over 10,000 corrections-related sites. And this only begins to describe what's available.

COPNet: Information and a huge number of links on, about and for police services and officers, including special sections available only to sworn law enforcement personnel.

Crime Stoppers International: Much information on Crime Stoppers programs, including training, conference information and links to Crime Stopper web pages from around the world.

Criminal Justice Research Resources: Created and maintained by Charles Dreveskracht, this page contains links to a wide variety of CJ research sources, methodologies, statistics, and much more. An invaluable research tool!

European Institute for Crime Prevention and Control (HEUNI): HEUNI is the European link in the network of institutes operating within the framework of the United Nations Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice Programme. It was established to promote the exchange of information on crime prevention and criminal justice among European countries.

High Tech Crime Consortium: With membership open only to sworn law enforcement officers, prosecuting attorneys and senior corporate system administrators, this organization works to:

  • Provide training and information in computer security, forensic investigation, intelligence analysis and criminology
  • Educate the public in computer crime and it's effects on law enforcement
  • Develop software tools and techniques to support it's efforts in crime management
  • Provide information and resources to criminal justice professionals tasked with detecting, investigating, evaluating, prosecuting and preventing high technology crime.

High Technology Crime Investigation Association International: The High Technology Crime Investigation Association (HTCIA) is designed to encourage, promote, aid and effect the voluntary interchange of data, information, experience, ideas and knowledge about methods, processes, and techniques relating to investigations and security in advanced technologies among its membership. Membership is limited to: 1) Sworn peace officers, investigators and prosecuting attorneys -- employed by some level of local, state or federal governments -- involved in the investigation or prosecution of criminal activity involving computers or high technology; 2) Management and senior staff security professionals in the regular employ of private business or Industry in the various states, the primary duties of which, are the control and responsibility for security and/or investigation in computer or advanced technology environments.

International Association for Identification: A site for an association of criminal identity technicians and specialists; forensic, fingerprint, blood and DNA ID and more.

International Association of Chiefs of Police: The homepage of this organization, with basic information on their goals, members and mission.

International Association of Law Enforcement Planners: This organization helps network those who are planning the future of law enforcement around the world. Nicely organized, this is a very interesting site.

International Association of Women Police: This site contains much information, including membership requirements, training and conference info, news and announcements and links of interest.

International Associations of Directors of Law Enforcement Standards and Training: IADLEST is an international organizations dedicated to the improvement of public safety personnel. You'll find training, conference, and project information, as well as a member's directory.

International Centre for Criminal Law Reform and Criminal Justice Policy: The Centre is an independent, non-profit institute, officially affiliated with the United Nations. They are dedicated to making a substantial contribution to national and international efforts to reduce crime and improve justice. This site contains publications, occasional papers and reports, an events/conference listing and on-line forum facility, plus links to affiliated organizations.

International Centre for Prevention of Crime: An extensive site dealing will all aspects of crime prevention, legislation and planning. Included is a 100 item "Best Practices" listing and much more.

International Crime Victim Survey: The International Crime Victim Survey (ICVS) is the most far reaching programme of standardized sample surveys to look a householders’ experience with crime, policing, crime prevention and fear of crime in a large number of countries.

International Society of Crime Prevention Practitioners: An excellent site, containing much useful information on crime prevention, courses on the same, and a large number of links to associated sites.

International Union of Police Associations: On this site you'll find the history of this organization, news from around the world, information on seminars, programs, catalogs and publications, as well as a large link collection.

Internet Scambusters: This site is dedicated to exposing frauds, hoaxes and illegal activities on the Internet, while at the same time highlighting actual dangers.

INTERPOL: The entry page to Interpol's website.

Interpol's Missing Children Database: Children appearing on this web site are those which law enforcement authorities from Interpol's 181 member countries request Interpol to circulate on an International basis.  This is why, out of the important number of children who go missing, only a few hundred appear here.

National Institute of Justice International Center:  The US NIJ has opened their online International Center, with links leading to a vast array of online documents and papers from a number of collections, as well as links to United Nations events and data, information on international crime and justice, as well as resources for information on grants and funding.

Officer.com: A very complete and well-organized site, with links to almost everything of interest in the law enforcement area, including a series of links for conducting on-line case research.

OSCE POLIS - Policing OnLine Information System:

Terrorism Research Center: General information on terrorism, terrorists, intelligence and news events and analysis.

United Nations Crime and Justice Information Network: This electronic clearing-house represents the culmination of several years of incremental efforts coordinated by the United Nations Centre for International Crime Prevention, Vienna. The goal of the Centre is to act as coordinator and arbiter of this forum for the international exchange and dissemination of information on crime prevention and criminal justice issues.

United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI): The objective of UNICRI is to contribute, through research, training, field activities and the collection, exchange and dissemination of information, to the formulation and implementation of improved policies in the field of crime prevention and control. Included are listings of projects/conferences, publications, documents and links of interest.

Policing Just Outcomes in Sexual Assault Project : The main goals of the project are: - To improve our understanding of the incidence, nature and dynamics of sexual assault in Victoria, police responses to it, and the outcomes these responses generate. - To identify and understand the factors and dilemmas that influence the decisions made by adult victims of sexual assault on whether or not to report the offence/s to police. - To inform and improve Victoria Police responses to victim/survivors of sexual assault and the ways that Victoria Police manage the reporting of sexual assault - To identify and develop ways for the criminal justice system to better respond to and manage reports of sexual assault

Canadian Police Association : The professional organization for Canadian Police Officers. Among other items of interest to be found here is the CPA's Victim Resource Centre; an advocacy service, it collects and tracks statistics on victims and victimology as well as victim rights legislation Canada-wide, provides a variety of services to victims of crime, advocates for victim's rights to all levels of government and acts as an information clearinghouse.

Correctional Service of Canada: The home page of this organization. Included on the site are links to information and online publications on correctional issues.

Department of Justice: Canada: This site gives direct and detailed information on present Justice related legislation, new laws and progress of legislation through Parliament, as well as general information on criminal justice in Canada.

Directory of Diplomatic Representatives in Canada:  A very useful directory containing contact information for over 150 foreign embassies in Canada. 

RCMP Fraud & Scams Alerts: Information for consumers on the many kinds of fraud and scams that can take place both on and off the Internet.

Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness Canada: Links lead to information on corrections, national security, policing and policy information and other sites of interest. The latest news and briefs are posted here.

Association of Chief Police Officers: The ACPO seeks to promote leadership excellence by the chief officers of the Police Service, to assist in setting the policing agenda by providing professional opinion on key issues identified to the Government, appropriate organizations and individuals and to be the corporate voice of the Service.

Coroner's Law Resource: This site collects information, and links to information, relating to (mostly English) coroners’ law and practice.

Association for Crime Scene Reconstruction: The home page of this organization.

Bureau of Justice Assistance's (US DOJ) Training Database:  The BJA Training Database is a catalog of all federally funded and supported training available to state and local law enforcement officials. Each database listing includes the training provider, a course description, eligibility criteria, and contact information.

Bureau of Justice Statistics : A division of the US Dept. of Justice, BJS collects and analyzes statistics on all matters pertaining to crime, law enforcement, offenders, victims, courts, corrections and other data. A goldmine of information. Some subsets of this site are:

California Sexual Assault Investigators Association: This organization's site includes training information and links to related sites.

Center for the Study and Prevention of Violence: A well-designed and informative site, the Center works from a multi-disciplinary platform on the subject of violence and facilitates the building of bridges between the research community and the practitioners and policy makers. The CSPV collects research literature and resources on the causes and prevention of violence and provides direct information services to the public by offering topical searches on customized databases. Second, CSPV offers technical assistance for the evaluation and development of violence prevention programs. Third, CSPV maintains a basic research component through data analysis and other projects on the causes of violence and the effectiveness of prevention and intervention programs. The Center maintains four databases. They are the:

Community Relations Service (US Dept. of Justice): The mission of the service is to prevent and resolve community conflicts and reduce community tensions arising from actions, policies, and practices perceived to be discriminatory on the basis of race, color, or national origin. The Service offers assistance to communities in resolving disputes relating to race, color, or national origin and facilitates the development of viable agreements as alternatives to coercion, violence, or litigation. It also assists and supports communities in developing local mechanisms as proactive measures to prevent or reduce racial/ethnic tensions.

COPS - Concerns of Police Survivors : This organization offers services and programs for survivors of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty.

Counter-Terrorism Training and Resources for Law Enforcement: This portal web site serves as a single point of access to counter-terrorism training opportunities and related materials available across the Federal Government and from private and nonprofit organizations. These resources will help every law enforcement decision maker develop strategic plans for professional training and local emergency response. It includes a section on victim assistance.

Criminal Crisis Response Initiative: The Criminal Crisis Response Initiative project (CCRI) is a community-based, multi-disciplinary, inter-agency, assessment and planning process. This facilitated process assists communities in the design, development and implementation of a long-range plan for the establishment of a formal collaborative of their victims service providers. the intent of this collaborative is to coordinate the delivery of resources and services to victims of an act of criminal mass victimization (CMV) such as the Oklahoma City bombing and Littleton, CO high school shootings.

High Technology Crime Investigation Association: The HTCIA is designed to encourage, aid and effect the voluntary interchange of data, information, ideas and knowledge about methods, processes, and techniques relating to investigations and security in advances technologies among its membership.

Internet Fraud Complaint Center (USA): The IFCC is a cooperative project of the US Federal Bureau of Investigation and the National White Collar Crime Center.  Victims of fraud can use this site to report the details of their cases, while law enforcement agencies can use the IFCC as a central depository of fraud case information, statistics and patterns. 

Justice Research and Statistics Association: JRSA is a national nonprofit organization of state Statistical Analysis Center (SAC) directors, researchers, and practitioners throughout government, academia, and criminal justice organizations. Through links on this site you can access each of the State Statistical Analysis Centers, or look through their clearinghouse of state justice programs, research and data.

JUSTNET - National Law Enforcement and Corrections Technology Center: A National Institute of Justice Program, this site acts as a central information exchange for organizations and services interested in criminal justice and technology. Project listings, technology databases, service and assistance listings and both public and restricted discussion boards are all available here.

Mapping and Analysis for Public Safety: Formerly known as the Crime Mapping Research Center, it was created in 1997 to promote the research, evaluation, development and dissemination of geographic information systems technology and the spatial analysis of crime. Suggested software for mapping as well as abstracts of research, information on projects and conferences and links to sites of interest can all be found here.

Memorial Institute for the Prevention of Terrorism (MIPT) : The Oklahoma City National Memorial Institute for the Prevention of Terrorism is dedicated to preventing and reducing terrorism and mitigating its effects.  They feel they have a special obligation to first responders - police officers, firefighters, emergency medical technicians and all of the others who are first on the scene in the aftermath of terrorist activity.

National Center for Victims of Crime Stalking Resource Center: The center's primary purpose is to provide resources, training and technical assistance to victim service providers and criminal justice professionals in an effort to promote a shared, national understanding of stalking and to support locally coordinated, multidisciplinary anti-stalking approaches and responses.

National Consortium for Justice Information and Statistics: A central information site leading to a wide variety of sources on statistics, computer and IT information and development and other resources related to US Criminal Justice

National Crime Prevention Council: A tremendous resource for those looking for information on crime prevention, community building and planning; it includes program examples, neighborhood action plans, training and special topics.

National Crime Victim Law Institute: The National Crime Victim Law Institute is a non-profit research and educational organization at Lewis & Clark Law School, Portland, Oregon. NCVLI is the only national organization in the country working to assert victims’ rights in criminal trial courts. In addition to its teaching mission, NCVLI performs a number of critical functions:
  - Maintains and disseminates a resource bank of crime victim law
  - Assists attorneys who provide direct legal services to crime victims
  - Works to establish legal clinics nationwide to represent victims in court
  - Files amicus briefs advocating for crime victims’ rights in the courts

National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives: NOBLE's site includes full background and history information, program and grant data, a listing of publications, available training and more.

National Sheriffs Association: The homepage for this organization, with conference dates and a mission statement.

National Fraud Information Center : This site contains information on a variety of fraud practices, how to spot and report them and what to do if you or someone you know has been a victim of fraud. Also included are many links of interest.

Ohio Concerns of Police Survivors: The Road of Grief: An extensive resource on grief, law enforcement, the delivery of death notifications, and how to recover from grief.

Police Link: "PoliceLink’s mission is to bring together all members of the greater law enforcement community to promote officer safety, provide the latest law enforcement and police news, training, resources, entertainment, and to serve as the most important social and career network for: 1. Current, former, and future LEOs 2. Civilian employees of law enforcement or criminal justice organizations 3. Family, friends, and civilian supporters of law enforcement"

Policing.com: "Your Headquarters for Community Policing" This web site is dedicated to providing the latest information and advice on community policing. Community policing is a philosophy based on the recognition that nothing can outperform dedicated people working together to make their communities better and safer places in which to live and work and raise children. Included on the site are links to online articles, consulting services, examples of effective programs and books of interest.

Sourcebook of Criminal Justice Statistics: This site presents the Sourcebook, compilation of which  is an annual event and an ongoing process. As such, updates of tables and new data sources continually are received and prepared for presentation in the next edition. The site will be updated regularly to reflect these new data as they will appear in the next edition.

Street Drug Slang On-line Dictionaries: Links to several different street drug slang dictionaries.

The Police Foundation: The purpose of the Police Foundation is to help the police be more effective in doing their job, whether it be deterring robberies, intervening in potentially injurious family disputes, or working to improve relationships between the police and the communities they serve.  Their site includes research, policy and advocacy information, online resources and more.
